October 12 - 18, 2009

Operation Beach Body continued this week... with lots of aches and pains!!! Actually last Friday my co-worker decided that she would try some squats after listening to me complain so Saturday she sent me a text message and said, "It hurts to sit on the toilet, I hate you and Eric's stupid squats!!" Eric and I got a good laugh from this!!!

Sunday we did some more squats and lunges... Monday I told Eric that Stephani was right and that it did hurt to sit on the toilet!!! Tuesday, Eric was sore from Sundays squats and lunges and he had the same complaint!!

We continued our runs and workouts and I'm thrilled to say that yesterday I ran 9 tenths of a mile straight and all together just a little over 1 mile!!! WOO HOO!!! All in all our route was 2 miles and when we got home Riley was sitting in the chair panting as if she'd been running with us!!!!

Friday, I came home at lunch to call the wedding planner in Mexico because she wasn't answering my emails fast enough ( I wasn't blessed with patience!!!). Eric and I will be booking our wedding trip next week and I wanted to verify that she still had June 5th open. Her name is Paola (pronouced Powla) and seems to be very nice. So I called the hotel and asked if Paola was available and I initially had to hold... I was really tickled with the Mexican music playing as I held on. When Paola came to the phone I told her who I was and she recognized me from my emails. YEAH June 5th is still open and she agreed to pencil us in and after we book our trip we can fax her our contract. She asked how to spell my name and then I THOUGHT she said, "What is your room?" Stupidly, I replied, "Well I don't know what room I'm going to be in." Paola laughed and said, "No jour groom, the man you are going to marry." At this point we were both laughing!!!

This week we discovered that Riley does not like vitamin C but Mocha does... Last night there were a couple of dogs barking in the back and Riley went out and barked and them and told them to stop... AND they did!!!
Yesterday we woke up to Mocha barking... either at the neighbors moving around or possibly the wind... needless to say Eric asked him if he needed to get his gun to keep someone out or if Mocha needed to be shot!!! Tech kicked some Cornhusker butt this weekend and we're gearing up for those stupid aggies this weekend. We're looking forward to tailgating with Jeff and Courtney.

We have been very lazy this weekend. We got out a couple of times but the dogs have been the laziest. Riley didn't even want to go outside until 7 last night!! I think we ruin her days when we stay home but oh well. I was happy with the way football turned out this weekend but you cannot win them all. Lets go Phillies

August 2009 - October 11, 2009

Eric and I got in got engaged in Houston in August at an Astros and Brewer's baseball game. We were also in Brazoria to visit Eric's parents, sister, niece and nephew.

Once we got home we were on our way to Weed, New Mexico for Jason and Jeanene's wedding and spent some time in Ruidoso.

Eric had a birthday!!!

Maybe we had a week off before the start of tailgate and Texas Tech Football!!! Tailgate has been a good time as usual but Eric hasn't been able to participate as much due to being in the Reserves. Jeff and Courtney have been able to attend a game with us and we look forward to a few more before the season is over.

Mary Jane had a birthday!!!

September brought an investigator to town to interview Eric and LOTS of others for his potential job with a certain agency!!! This has been an interesting road.

Operation Beach Body began for me on Tuesday, October 6th...
Day 1 Eric ran and walked and ran. I expected to be sore the next day... needless to say I was taken by surprise when I was sore prior to going to bed. I took Advil prior to going to bed.
Day 2 brought on sit ups, pushups, crunches, curls, weights, pullups, etc. After doing a set of crunches I said to Eric, "I think my abs are going to spew blood," to which he replied, "get up we have to do curls."
Day 3 We were being a little lazy after work when I heard on the news that a cold front would be passing through "in a few minutes," this news lit a fire and out the door we went for a run or walk-run. When we returned home I was under the impression that we were finished, all we did was run on day 1. Eric said we had to go back outside to jump rope; I said bad words including the dreaded F word. Outside we went and jumped rope which was followed by squats and some more bad words. I took more Advil before going to bed.
Days 4 & 5 we rested.

This weekend Tech whooped Kansas State in the freezing cold. Today Eric is watching football and chores are getting done as we prepare for another week of work. Operation Beach Body will continue today (Day 6) with running, squats, lunges, and sprints. Today Riley got in on the sprints!!!
